Our storyboard & plot.

Beginning:

The first scene started with our main character running away from a mysterious figure. Her face shows fear as she desperately tries to run away. But it was all a dream.Before all this,a couple of years ago she joined a cult that was based on killing their loved ones. For those who are able to kill their one love was showed that they are able to kill a person without feeling any regret because they experience a true loss. 

The cult influence her to kill one of the person that she loved. After that,she is regretted and felt very guilty.So she tried to retire from the cult. She told the cult leader that she is going to quit the cult because her mind and conscience told her that it was wrong.....

She started having dreams which dreams of a unknown person. Her dreams was so real until she can't tell the differences between dreams and reality. She then worried and went to receive a consultations from a doctor.

After that the doctor told her the situation and went to the doctor to receive medications to make her dreams go away for it is driving her mad! After the consultations, she continued to have dreams. That is more vigorous of her dreams. She dreamed about the unknown figure which kept asking her why did she killed him. Does she not love him anymore? 

She was heavily influenced by the cult and she choose comply with the teachings of the cult even though she knows that what she is doing is wrong. For the belief of the cult is that if somebody is capable of killing the person that they love, they will not be able to feel anything when they kill a stranger because they experience a lost greater than anything and to them without that person life is meaningless so they will submit to the cult. 

She started having mysterious cuts on her arm and bruises. As she woke up from one of her horrible dreams the figure was standing right in front of her, and he was holding a knife. As he raises the knife, her hands was following the actions of the figure.....

DIALOGUE/NARRATIVE

This is our group's plot and dialogues that we all "brain frying". And we add some interest scenes into it.
Firstly, we combined our different ideas into one, it was a little bit confusing because we add on the multiple personality disorder as our topic.But after we discussing the storyline with Mr Charles, he helps us to solve the problem of confusing.

The Three Faces of Eve (1957)

A doctor treats a woman suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder.

I found a really cool publicity photo from The Three Faces of Eve that someone had scanned. 

Eve White is a quiet, mousy, unassuming wife and mother who keeps suffering from headaches and occasional black outs. Eventually she is sent to see psychiatrist Dr. Luther, and, while under hypnosis, a whole new personality emerges: the racy, wild, fun-loving Eve Black. Under continued therapy, yet a third personality appears, the relatively stable Jane. This film, based on the true-life case of a multiple personality, chronicles Dr. Luther's attempts to reconcile the three faces of Eve. multiple personalities.

Raising Cain (1992)

I think our storyline is pretty intresting , i never thought i could do something like this. We always watch movie but we never know how hard of making one movie and how hard to plot it out step by step.

It was tiring but i think it will be very fun while filming out of our own movie.

I can't wait til the day which our movie released. HAHA :)

CONTEXTUAL DEFINITIONS

Here are the plot that we planned. Part-to-part.

To figure out how this cult have form, we've decided to had a discussion... 

The beginning:

1.Somebody chasing her

2.She wakes up from dream

3.After that, she went to a group meeting,from the group it had a cult leader , you had to done : " You're part of us!" 

Scene ....

1.Another dreams 

2.She appears in the dream, the cult members circling her ,chanting her, she see a figure , the figure turns to somebody she knows.

3.He said , why did you do this to me? Am i not part of you anymore? 

4.She wakes up from the dream.

5.After that, the doctor ask her ,having dream again? 

6.Suddenly he grab a knife stab her into stomach , she notice a figure standing behind to control his movements.

7.She wakes up from the real dream.....

Hi readers, it's quite a long time since my last post.. I'm sorry for not continuously blogging in these few weeks. Life in Uni now was so hasted and of course the level of stress never been reduced.

Sometimes I was felt like a typical worker, working all day long to complete those works which given by the boss. Okay stop grumbling. Let me start the topic - IDEATION VISUALS.

Firstly ,we were instructed by Mr Charles to form a group. This group have to work together for filming of cult and noir film. Grouping done. My team members were Apple , Sean and Moo.

After grouping, we have to think our storyline. Developing a storyline was quite troublesome for us, at the same time,our minds come out a lot of ideas. Our original plot was pretty interesting however we failed to consider how difficult it would be to film it in the short time and we were forced to make some changes.

And because my idea was lacking of cults  .... so we decided to change the storyline. 

So we started to do some research on youtube.

From the beginning we planned to do comedy film with no sounds as we guessed other group might do the noir film with sounds. We want to be the special one so here our final storyline after brainstorm for few days.

Cult.

Cult cinema is a term that is often met with some confusion. What exactly is a cult film ?

To begin with, there is the range of meanings associated with the word "cult" proper.There are two frameworks through which the word "cult" is approached , a sociological one and a religious one.

The religious understanding refers to 'cult' as the ancient or original procedures of practice that are externally present in the observation of a belief.

The sociological understanding of the term 'cult' also deals with religion, but it approaches it more as a degree of institutionalization.

The History of Studying Cult Cinema

The cult cinema has been influenced by its historical and other contextual developments.These would include the contextual introduction sections in Mathijs and Mendik's collection The Cult Film Reader as well as Greg Taylor's history of 'cultism' within American film criticism,Artists in the Audience.

While the use of the word 'cult' within film culture stretches back much further, it was probably in the 1970s that the term 'cult film' or 'cult cinema' began to be used.

Definition of Cult Cinema

Many overviews of cult cinema give lists instead of definitions.The definitions of cult cinema come in four contexts: sociological studies , reception studies, textual interpretations and aesthetic analyses.

Sociological studies assume that a cult film is a film with an intense following, not unlike religious cults.

Reception studies investigate the trajectories through which films develop cult followings as part of their passage through markets.

The textual approach follows closely on the reception studies approach.While the stress in this approach is on offering a definition based on the analysis of the films, there is a strong acknowledgment of the role of viewers.A  central point of attention in these studies is the complexity of communication between text and viewer.

Aesthetic approaches seek to understand cult films as so unique that they defy interpretation, and operate purely on an affective and visceral level.

This book has helped me a lot when i was having trouble of researching CULT.

N O I R

Firstly , what is your first thought when you hear the words NOIR ?

For me , I'm thinking about something black and white movie or people. Yup it's correct , noir is associated in low key black and white.It was all about the low key lighting , it is just like my previous post :)

Film noir is not a genre, but rather the mood, style, point-of-view, or tone of a film. It is also helpful to realize that 'film noir' usually refers to a distinct historical period of film history.


Noir literally means black in French. It is probably known worldwide though for being a style of movie or theater. The term film noir refers to a setting or style that is less than happy. It often has a dark theme and or setting. 


Film genre characteristic of the years between with 20's and late 40's. 

Dark, gritty crime fiction: usually a heist, murder, or other such crime.

Film noir films mostly shot in gloomy grays, blacks and whites) thematically showed the dark and inhumane side of human nature with cynicism and doomed love, and they emphasized the brutal, unhealthy, seamy, shadowy, dark and sadistic sides of the human experience. 

Some of the most prominent directors of film noir included Orson Welles, John Huston, Billy Wilder, Edgar Ulmer, Douglas Sirk, Robert Siodmak, Fritz Lang, Otto Preminger, Henry Hathaway and Howard Hawks.
